Be sure to leave an out of office message on your email and change your outgoing voicemail message. Suggestions below:
OOO Message (Out Of Office Message):
Thank you for your email. I am currently out of the office because it is the weekend and/or the apocalypse. If feasible, and your email merits it, I may respond by iPhone if my time on earth lasts that long. If your email is uninteresting or I’m busy reveling and/or praying for salvation I won’t reply – tough luck.
Depending on the extent with which the world begins to crumble around us will determine the speed that I reply to your non-urgent message on Monday May 23, 2011. Make that “if I’m able to reply.”
In the event the world does not end, I’ll be sure to unembezzle that money, except a few hundred I took to buy an iPad (sorry!).
If you got ’em, smoke ’em.
Outgoing voicemail message
Thanks for your call. It’s entirely possible that neither you nor I will be around Monday when I’d normally return your call. If I make it through I’ll try to return your call at that time. If not – it was fun while it lasted.
If you feel your call is an emergency then it’s likely you have my cell phone number – feel free to try it out. If you don’t have my cell number then there’s no way your call is that important, please leave a message or send me an email.
